THE EVENT
Two choreographed sequences (1 minute 30 seconds in length) will be distributed to all applicants a month prior to the competition. These will be contrasting in style and entrants may choose the one most suited to their ability. Applicants will then learn their selected solo prior to the competition dates.
Junior Division will be supplied one phrase only.
Dancers will undergo a series of contemporary classes as well as a coaching session on their chosen variation from the original choreographer. Applicants will then perform their chosen variation to a hand-picked panel of industry professionals.
10 artists from each division will be selected to perform their own solo in the Contemporary Dance Open Finals. The chosen solo is to be of contemporary style and no more than 2 minutes in length.

ATTIRE
Competitors are required to wear a leotard and tights.
If competitors are selected as a finalist, they are able to display self expression regarding their attire.
Hair and makeup is at the competitors own discretion.
SCORING
Competitors will be judged by an expert panel of professional artists.
Judged equally on both artistry and technical skill, the dancers will be observed in both a class and performance format to ensure complete fairness throughout the event.
Male and female participants across all age divisions WILL NOT compete separately.
ALL JUDGING DECISIONS ARE FINAL IN MATTER.
Prizes
Prizes are in the form of financial scholarship and professional development to support to be put towards further tuition.
