Being part of the pioneer batch at School of the Arts Singapore and danced with T.H.E. (Second) Dance Company, her love for contemporary dance brought her to London to train at London Contemporary Dance School.

Other than touring internationally as a performer and teacher with Hofesh Shechter Company, she has also been invited as a guest artist and choreographer with T.H.E. Dance Company, M1 CONTACT Contemporary Dance Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Ignition Dance Festival, Esplanade da:ns Festival Singapore, Singapore Biennale and more.

Danceformation was born from Georgette’s personal journey through the challenges of a dynamic dance career. As a hypermobile dancer prone to physical setbacks, Georgette experienced moments of frustration to completely understand how to align her training with her artistic performance. Despite rigorous strength and conditioning programs, something always seemed to be missing, leaving her feeling like she had to work harder than her peers just to keep up.

The turning point came when Georgette trained with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York. There, the meticulous teaching methods and traditional techniques transformed her approach to dance and body awareness in profoundly simple yet effective ways. The rigorous training and exposure to professional standards not only honed her skills but also set the foundation for a successful dance career, opening doors to numerous performance opportunities and inspiring future innovations in her craft. During her professional performance career this experience ignited a passion in her to delve deeper into the science behind contemporary dance movement.

Driven by a desire to bridge the gap between strength training and artistic application, Georgette invested in extensive research and experimentation to refine her skills and enhance her understanding of biomechanics in dance. Her journey revealed a critical insight: the need for dancers to access effective, evidence-based education that integrates physical conditioning with their artistic practice.
